Father’s Day is a fun time to celebrate the amazing dads in our lives! What a better way to celebrate than to read a book about dad with dad (or step-dad, grandpa, etc.)! Books are great because they build background knowledge on concepts, which supports language development. Reading together is a great bonding opportunity for dads and kids. When reading remember to make it interactive and fun by pointing out key words and concepts, asking questions, and talking about the things your child sees in the book.
Here are our top ten fave books about dad/grandpa. These books all provide lots of opportunities to build language and literacy for young children.
