The answer is simple, because making people laugh is my passion! I created this website not only as a place to provide parents with tips on their child’s speech and language development and parenting, but also to make people laugh and smile and to spread joy.
As a mom, a Speech Pathologist, and a person, I find that laughter is a necessity. In my career, I have always focused on fun activities that create meaningful learning opportunities.
As a mom, my favorite moments are the ones when my kids and I are laughing uncontrollably at something simple and silly. Sometimes as a parent, things get so stressful, the only way to make it to the other side gracefully is to laugh at yourself and the crazy chaos.
As a person, I’ve always loved entertaining others through singing and performing and have a very self-deprecating nature. I think of myself as a musical clown at times because singing and making people laugh are where I feel at my best (and goofiest).
This particular video was inspired by my constantly messy house, or as I like to call it, my three ring circus. I decided that letting the mess go was the best option at times in order to stay in the moment and accept things as they are. I used to try to keep up with it to no avail and was a ball of stress. I still have moments where I look around my house at the end of the day and go, “ahhhhh!” But, I’ve gotten much better at instead looking at my happy kids and saying, “awe!”
As I slowly start to let go of unreasonable expectations of myself as a mom, I feel like I am taking off pressure and it helps me to be more present and find joy and laughter in simple moments. When I focus on measuring my day in meaningful moments with my little ones rather than achieving perfection, I am so much happier!
It took me about a year to finish this and get the courage to post it online, but I’m ready to release the fear of the unknown and “Let it Go!!”
