We are so excited to bring you a review of Curiosity Pack: Letters! This amazing pack provides creative and fun learning opportunities created by educator, founder of Curiosity Pack, and mom of two, Lily Jones. Lily believes that engagement is the key to academic success and that all students can learn when provided relevant, interesting contexts for learning.
As a mom and a Speech Language Pathologist myself, I love creative educational activities that provide outside the “box” learning opportunities, which ironically can be found inside this “box,” or as it’s called in this instance, “pack.”
This pack holds amazing materials that are designed to support your child (aged 3+) in developing literacy skills by exploring their curiosity about letters with meaningful and fun activities.
This pack includes:
- an activity book, teaching kids about the alphabet through inquiry
- an alphabet card game, engaging kids in matching letters to letter sounds
- a poster featuring the Curiosity Pack monster alphabet
- a laminated hide-and-seek alphabet picture and marker, allowing kids to circle hidden letters then wipe off the picture for repeated use
My kids (ages 2 and 6) were so excited to open the box when we got it in the mail and were thrilled to discover the awesome stuff inside. The materials are beautiful with vibrant colors and adorable monster characters, which are engaging and fun! This pack definitely piques my kids’ curiosity and provides tons of learning opportunities that they can both benefit from.
After receiving this pack in the mail my kids dove in and started playing (and learning) with the contents, as I read through the instructions (which were super clear and helpful). We now use the pack as part of our at-home learning and we all love it! We use the alphabet poster when we do our “pretend home school” (since my toddler is at home with me, we do mini-lessons here and there) and my two year old is obsessed with it! She loves pointing to the letters as she sings her ABC’s and talking about the items in the pictures that starts with each letter. My six year old loves teaching her little sister about words that start with each letter (letter-sound correspondence) and she even showed her how to play the matching game (with my help).
The workbook is super fun and it encourages the child to ponder letters from many angles (the sounds they make, how they are written, how they are similar and different to other letters, and where they can be found in the child’s environment). I love the multi-faceted approach to learning about letters the Curiosity Pack provides. I am excited to continue to support my daughters’ expanding literacy skills with this great product. I am so appreciative for the opportunity to review it. 🙂
