“Let it Go” Parody- Can’t Clean it Up Anymore!

Let it Go parody, Can't Clean it Up Anymore!

Why a parody video??? You might ask.

The answer is simple, because making people laugh is my passion! I created this website not only as a place to provide parents with tips on their child’s speech and language development and parenting, but also to make people laugh and smile and to spread joy.

As a mom, a Speech Pathologist, and a person, I find that laughter is a necessity.Β  In my career, I have always focused on fun activities that create meaningful learning opportunities.

As a mom, my favorite moments are the ones when my kids and I are laughing uncontrollably at something simple and silly. Sometimes as a parent, things get so stressful, the only way to make it to the other side gracefully is to laugh at yourself and the crazy chaos.

As a person, I’ve always loved entertaining others through singing and performing and have a very self-deprecating nature. I think of myself as a musical clown at times because singing and making people laugh are where I feel at my best (and goofiest).

This particular video was inspired by my constantly messy house, or as I like to call it, my three ring circus. I decided that letting the mess go was the best option at times in order to stay in the moment and accept things as they are. I used to try to keep up with it to no avail and was a ball of stress. I still have moments where I look around my house at the end of the day and go, “ahhhhh!” But, I’ve gotten much better at instead looking at my happy kids and saying, “awe!”

As I slowly start to let go of unreasonable expectations of myself as a mom, I feel like I am taking off pressure and it helps me to be more present and find joy and laughter in simple moments. When I focus on measuring my day in meaningful moments with my little ones rather than achieving perfection, I am so much happier!

It took me about a year to finish this and get the courage to post it online, but I’m ready to release the fear of the unknown and “Let it Go!!”

I’m right along with you with the not stressing about the mess. Especially right now with my newborn, I’d go crazy if I worried about a messy house. Time I would be cleaning is spent spending quality time with my kids. Love the parody!! πŸ™‚

Sammy- I totally agree! With my first baby I was a clean freak and super stressed. Second time around with my two year old has been much more relaxed! I can laugh at the mess now! πŸ™‚

Thanks for linking up with us at Hip Homeschool Moms! I love your video! My kids are older now (20, 18, and 12), and it’s still not easy to keep the house clean! But I’m enjoying the years of having my children at home. It won’t be much longer for me until they’re out of the house, so I’m trying to enjoy it now and not worry so much about the house. πŸ™‚

The kids won’t remember the mess. They will, however, remember the forts, and mommy being the queen. πŸ˜‰

This is a great parody! I am right there, after years of cleaning up after the little ones in an attempt of keeping my perfect house, I’ve “let it go” and am embracing the play times.
